Bleeding Tree

Back in March I was out in the Rouge valley. It was still cold - but it was sunny and above freezing that day.

I came upong a tree that had fallen and crashed into another, it looked like it had been that way for quite a while. Anyway, the frozen sap dripping out of the suspended truck as it thawed was pretty neat looking

Hey! New Furnace!

Yeah I know that it's not really that exciting. Is that Lennox guy a real guy? Is his face just the company logo?

Not exactly sure why I'm posting about this. I guess that after the amount of freaking money the thing cost I just think I need to brag about it to somebody...

Sure works nice though!

David Gilmour: Night 14: Toronto

David Gilmour: Night 14: Toronto

A kick ass show - venue, songs, band, seats (4th row centre!)... everything just perfect.

One of those times when you just can't stop looking around because you want to remember every single quantum of detail forever. It's almost like it'll last forever, but it just passes so fast....

It's so awesome when you have one of those milestone lifetime events - you are AWARE of the significance while it's happening.

As Bidini often sings: "I was there!"

YouTube - TOOL - Lateralus / Triad

If you know anything about music - you like Tool.

This is a pretty awesome performance from the tour supporting the Lateralus album.

I think the playing speaks for itself. Needless to say, I'm quite looking forward to their new album.

Study Skills Library - Academic Skills Center - Cal Poly

As I'm currently in the home stretch for my P.Eng exam and looking down the tube for the PMP sometime in the fall, thought I'd share a little piece I found on something I've found quite challenging: Procrastination

University for me was a lot of assignments (pretty sure it was 2nd semester in 2nd year that I had 7 due each week!) that were required to be handed in on regularly spaced intervals.

While there's no doubt that the ability to deal with this onslaught and maintain sanity (not to mention staying productive without much sleep) has proven useful in my post-university life, - there is no question that topics and formats I've encountered since, usually of a less technical nature, require a whole different set of muscles in order to study. I can count on one hand the number of times in my Engineering Physics education that i had a full-blown 'reading' assignment - i.e. read chapters 12 through 47 by tomorrow, bring a report. Every single formalized course I've taken since then, however, has had some component of "read, digest, recall-on-command".

Anyway, I guess I really should be studying.....
