I tried one the online reading speed tests that are linked in this article and scored a 486 - though I think I rushed a little bit.
This is fantastic advice though, actively trying to increase the size of the pipe through which you take in most of your information.
The author makes the very good point that many (most?) really successful people are heavy readers - there's no question that being able to more quickly and effectively is a very powerful skill.
